Illinois Passes Minimum Wage Bill Through Congress

A bill to amend the Illinois state minimum wage was passed through the Illinois senate on Thursday, February 7th. It raises the minimum wage to $9.25/hr on January 1, 2020, $10/hr on July 1, 2020, $11/hr on January 1, 2021, and $12/hr on 1January 1, 2022. The ultimate minimum rate in this amendment will be $15/hr by January 1, 2025. The bill can be reviewed by clicking here.

While the bill is in committee now, it is expected to pass through the Illinois house and is supported by Governor JB Pritzker.
