Shuaib Ahmed, ASA Law Group Owner & President Appointed to IL Self Insurers Advisory Board

On Thursday, May 18, 2023, Chairman Michael J. Brennan announced the appointment of three new Members to the Illinois Self Insurers Advisory Board, including ASA Law Group Owner and President, Shuaib Ahmed.

The new Members are Toni L. Herwaldt of Navistar, Gina M. Koenig of Ascension and Shuaib Ahmed of ASA Law Group.

Ms. Herwaldt has been involved in Illinois Workers’ Compensation issues in many capacities.  She is currently the Director of Risk Management for Navistar.  In a past life, she has been the Senior Risk Manager of Kraft Heinz Company, Dart Container and Pepsi.

Ms. Koenig is the Associate Risk and Workers’ Compensation Litigation Manager at Ascension.  She too has extensive Workers’ Compensation experience with self-insured employers, having worked at Amita Health and CCMSI.

Mr. Ahmed is a practicing attorney with ASA Law Group, LLC.  Mr. Ahmed’s firm specializes in Workers’ Compensation issues, including the representation of self-insured employers.  He is a faculty member of the IICLE and a former Assistant Illinois Attorney General.
